Nilan units consist mainly of recyclable materials. Therefore, they should not be mixed with household waste, but delivered to your local recycling centre for disposal.

The only tools you need are a Torx 20 screwdriver and possibly angled pliers to cut wires.

  1. The orange bypass motor is removed and returned to electronic waste
  2. Printed circuit boards and electronics are pulled out and handed in by electronic waste
  3. Fans dismantled and returned by electronic waste
  4. Hot water tank is handed in for metal waste
  5. The water trap hose is supplied to soft plastic waste
  6. The heat pump: contains the refrigerant R134a/R410a, which is harmful to the environment if handled incorrectly.

When disposing of units with heat pumps, it is important to contact local authorities for information on the proper disposal procedure.
