You can vacuum the ventilation unit before cleaning it on the inside with a slightly damp cloth. Be careful around potentially sharp edges. Be careful not to let water get into the electrical control system.<\/p>

The ventilation unit should also be cleaned on the outside with a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent.<\/p>

Valves in the ceiling Over time, a ring may form around the inlet valves. This is a natural phenomenon caused by dust in the air in the room. It is not due to faulty filters or filters that are not replaced.<\/p>

Since painted ceilings are rarely washable, we recommend vacuuming the area around the flaps before wiping them with a slightly damp cloth.<\/p>

It is important that this water can drain freely from the condensation tray. If it cannot drain properly, it will eventually leak from the door of the unit and possibly cause water damage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

  1. Pour water into the condensation tray<\/li>
  2. Close the door of the ventilation unit<\/li>
  3. Turn on the ventilation device and let it run for 10 minutes.<\/li>
  4. Open the door of the ventilation unit and check that the water has drained and has not run back into the condensation tray.<\/li>
  5. If the water has drained, everything is fine.<\/li><\/ol>

    If the water did not drain, check the water trap (the bend\/tube) and the drain for blockages.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The counterflow heat exchanger is a central part of the ventilation unit. It heats the cold outside air with energy from the warm outside air. For high heat recovery, it is important that the heat exchanger is not clogged with dirt.<\/p>

    Experience shows that it is not necessary to remove and clean the heat exchanger every year. However, if it appears dirty, you should take it out and clean it.<\/p>

    The easiest way to clean the counterflow heat exchanger is in the shower. Use lukewarm water and rinse it thoroughly on both sides. Let it drip off before reassembling it in the ventilation unit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Control of sacrificial anode<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    A sacrificial anode is fitted in the hot water tank (not in stainless steel tanks) to protect the tank from corrosion. The sacrificial anode is electrically monitored and it is important to replace it immediately after an alarm is detected in the control panel.<\/p>

    It depends on water quality, installation and consumption how long it will take between replacements. Experience shows that it can take between 1\/2 and 10 years before it needs replacing. The sacrificial anode is a wearing part that should be replaced by your Nilan dealer or approved installer.<\/p>

    The guarantee for the hot water tank only applies if the sacrificial anode has been replaced in time if necessary.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    It is important for the operation of the unit that there is a free air passage in the ventilation ducts.<\/p>

    After several years of use, dirt will settle in ventilation ducts or pipes, and accumulations can lead to a higher pressure drop in the ducts, resulting in higher energy consumption. Therefore, it is important to clean the ducts when too much dirt has accumulated.<\/p>

    After the intake and exhaust valves have been checked, it is advisable to have them readjusted to ensure optimum operation of the ventilation system.<\/p>

    However, it will not be necessary to clean channels more than every few years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Immediately after commissioning the heat pump, there may be a considerable amount of dirt particles in the central heating system. After installation, the particle filter should therefore be checked and cleaned several times a day until the filter remains clean.<\/p>


    Thereafter, the particulate filter should be checked once a year as part of a general maintenance inspection.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    As part of the annual maintenance inspection, check the condensate drain of the outdoor unit by filling the condensate pan with water and checking that it drains freely.<\/p>

    Finally, clean the outdoor unit with a mild detergent.<\/p>
